A Place to Get Help With Homework

The library is a place where I can go for some quiet time, get help with my homework and relax. - Stephanie, Browns Mills

Don't close our Libraries

If you close the libraries, many kids and adults without computers wouldn't be able to do research on the Internet. At the library we can look up things online for free. I think it is so important that we in New Jersey should have this internet access. - Yessica, Pemberton

Valuable Resource for School Assignments

One of the responses my family has made to make up for our sacrifices due to the current economic situation include visiting our local public library for internet access and as a resource for texts for school reports. Also, provided there's any time left between homework and working part time, the occasional novel or two is much easier to access in my library. -Samantha, Pemberton

Preparing me for a Career

Because of the economy, my family and I are spending less time with each other.  We always went out to dinner every Friday night, but now things are not the same where we go out to have fun. The library helped me with my typing and my reading. When I get to college I want to be a lawyer and they have to type a lot of papers and do a lot of reading for which my time at the library is preparing me. Diamond, Pemberton

Helping me get my diploma

I am a 16 year old that is applying for college. With the libraries resources, I have self-educated to the point where I will excel at my SAT examinations and for getting my GED.
- Ronald, Ewing, Mercer County Library

Helped me get A's and B's

The Plainfield Library has helped me with my homework and it has helped me get A's and B's. It has not only helped me it has helped others too. It has helped them get off of the street and to go to another place after school to learn. Renee, Plainfield

The library was truly where my love of reading began.

I remember how my father and I would sit in the picture book section of the Bloomfield Public Library and browse the titles on the stacks. We would pick out a number of books to read both there and at home. It was always the highlight of my week and something I very much looked forward to. Little wonder I worked at a library through high school, became a tutor in college, and now teach English at an Essex County Public School. The library was truly where my love of reading began. – Stephanie, Rockaway

I will be the first of my immediate family members to graduate from college, and you helped me with that.

The library has been a life saver for me in that I am attending UCC (Union County College) in Cranford, NJ and when I can’t get to school, I come here to the library and log on to the UCC site to do homework, tests, and other projects. I have achieved a 4.0 GPA and intend on maintaining it.

I would like to say, Thank You Plainfield Public Library for assisting me in my education. I will be the first of my immediate family members to graduate from college, and you helped me with that.

Thanks again and God Bless You.  -Patricia, Plainfield

The Summer Reading Program Stands the Test of Time

I've always loved going to the library... I still remember being excited about the summer reading program when I was a kid. Even though none of my friends participated, it is a memory I love. Today both of my girls eagerly participate in the summer reading program at their library. They love keeping track of how much they've managed to read. Mary Ellen, Pompton Lakes

I’ve always been grateful to the library

During my middle and high school years, the library was a destination for me. I knew people who only went to the library when they had reports to research or long papers to write, and I always felt that they were missing out on all that I had seen and done within those quiet walls.
